2021 Avignonesi 'Da-Di' Rosso Toscana IGT, Tuscany, Italy

(92 Points)  A lovely bouquet of lavender, violets and crushed blackberries rises from the 2021 Sangiovese Da-Di. This washes across the palate with an intense wave of fleshy ripe fruits, all balanced by a salty flourish of minerality and tantalizing acidity. The 2021 finishes with grippy concentration yet remains fresh, with blue- and purple-toned inner florals that linger. The Da-di is a varietal Sangiovese that’s refined in amphora, where about one-third of the grapes are left in whole clusters through fermentation. This is an incredibly fun wine to taste.  Vinous
