2011 Chateau La Peyre Haut Medoc

A very spiced bouquet of dried tobacco, cigar box, fresh gravelly earth like notes along with a bit of must to the plum and currant berry fruit, a small producer only 50,000 bottles produced, Blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40 Merlot, 5% each Petite Verdot and Cabernet Franc, lots of intensity for a 2011 vintage. A bit of that earth and must on the tongue, ripe round fruit with a nice zest and spice through the finsih, a bit of green pepper on the finish. Finish 35+ Very Good +
