Winemaker Notes: This wine is made of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Merlot. This is a classic bistro wine, brimming with bright acidity, juicy red fruit, and soft earthy tannins. It is fresh, easily drinkable, all while being representative of its terroir. Pair it with rigatoni alla bolognese, or a juicy ribeye with roasted veggies and fingerling potatoes. Il Ghizzano is located in Chianti's Colline Pisane region, and is both high in altitude and close to the ocean. This allows the grapes to ripen to their best, while maintaining mouthwatering acidity and a slight salinity. This wine is highlighted by notes of tart cherry and wild strawberry, with a tomato leaf herbaceousness.
