This wine is a blend of 80% Montepulciano and 20% Shiraz, this is in Lazio and this region must have some hard rocks, that is what the name refers to. This wine has a good amount of black spices to the dark berry fruit, dark cherry and dark plum like fruit with pretty floral notes and some toasty oak spice, this wine sees 18 months in new French oak, a good amount of dark berry fruit on the tongue, rich and layered with some tannins here but ripe and round, finishes with layers of toaty oaks pice, gamey notes and some nice minerality here to the finish, dark spices and nice balance and length to the finish. Finish 45+ Excellent +
