Tasting Notes: The wine wafts from the glass in a classy blend of cassis, dark berries, singed tobacco, dark soil tones, a touch of clam shell and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is medium-full, low fat and very complex, with a good core, fine focus and balance, modest tannins and excellent length and grip on the classic finish. This wine is fully into its apogee of peak drinkability, but will continue to cruise along for many decades to come.
