2012 Casanuova de Nittardi Ad Astra

This is a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and a touch of Alicante aged in tonneaux for 14 months, a host of dark spices, fresh black earth, black truffles aged meat notes and more, very complex bouquet of aromas. A big and rustic wine wtih lots of tannins here but they are ripe and round with a host of dried flowers, black truffles and more coming out as the wine opens up, nice complexity here through the finish.
