2011 Bindi Sergardi La Ghirlanda Chianti Classico

Castelnova Berendinga in the estate in the south 10 miles north of Siena, they have 60 hectares of Chianti Classico they have have 100 total hectares, a very rocky terrain. There is 3% Cabernet Sauvignon and this is aged for 15 months in a mix of different older oak barrels. A very distinct bouquet, this vineyard at 1300 foot elevation and these wines have very good freshness but the warmth of the lattitude give these wines ripe fruit and south facing vineyards also aids in the ripening. Lots of earthy qualities to the nose, underbrush, sage and some dried flowers, spices and dried fruits. Plump ripe berry fruit on the tongue very forward and juicy with a nice balanced finish that floral and earth nuacne through the finish. Finish 35+ Very good +
