2011 Louis Jadot Clos Vougeot Grand Cru Methuselah (6 Liter)

(94 points)  The 2011 Jadot Clos Vougeot is absolutely stellar. The very deep and vibrant nose wafts from the glass in a blaze of red and black cherries, venison, espresso, bonfires, beautifully complex minerality, herb tones and a judicious base of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and properly reserved in personality, with a rock solid core, ripe, well-integrated tannins and superb length and grip on the very energetic and classy finish. This too could very well be a match for the outstanding 2010 version here! (Drink between 2025-2075) (12/2012) John Gilman
